Psychotherapy
Therapy isn't just for when something is seriously wrong. Sometimes you know you're struggling, but you can't quite put your finger on why. Maybe you're overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, navigating a major life transition, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself.
At Simply Healing, individual therapy is a space to slow down, make sense of what's happening, and better understand yourself — without judgment or the pressure to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.
Our virtual sessions are held on a secure and safe platform. Therapy can conveniently fit into your schedule or workday and can be accessed through your computer or smartphone. We also have in-person availability in Monmouth County, NJ. If needed, clients can engage in a hybrid schedule of both virtual and in-person.
What happens in individual therapy?
Your first session isn't a test.
You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about.
Your therapist will get to know you, what's bringing you in, what's been happening in your life, and what you'd like to be different.
Over time, therapy may involve understanding patterns from your past, looking at how you're responding to situations now, developing practical coping strategies, working through difficult experiences, challenging beliefs that aren't serving you, and figuring out what meaningful change looks like for you.
The goal isn't to change who you are. It's to help you better understand yourself and have more choice in how you respond to your life.
Specialties we carry at Simply Healing:
Addiction
Several Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselors on staff with extensive history working in addiction facilities and all levels of care.
Trauma
Our clinicians are trauma-sensitive and have advanced training in trauma-informed care. You don't have to know exactly what happened, have a diagnosis, or even be sure that what you've experienced “counts” as trauma to begin exploring it. Therapy can provide a safe, supportive space to understand how past experiences may still be showing up in your thoughts, relationships, emotions, or everyday life — at a pace that feels right for you.
Perinatal Issues / Postpartum support
Becoming a parent can bring up more than you expected.
Pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood can be filled with joy while also bringing anxiety, overwhelm, identity changes, relationship challenges, and emotions that can feel difficult to make sense of. Our perinatal-trained clinician can help you navigate this transition, reconnect with yourself, and create space for the parts of parenthood that feel harder than you imagined.
DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
DBT trained clinicians and groups.
